IRIS RECOGNITION APPARATUS AND PERSONAL IDENTIFICATION SYSTEM

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal identification system capable of preventing the occurrence of a collation error due to an oblique visual axis and shortening a time required for the personal identification. PSOLUTION: This personal identification system includes an iris recognition apparatus comprising an image acquisition section acquiring an eye image of a recognition object person, and a code generation section generating an iris code based on the eye image. This iris recognition apparatus is further provided with a visual axis analysis section analyzing the direction of the visual axis of the recognition object person based on the eye image for determining whether or not the eyes of the recognition object person face the image acquisition section, and a control part, when the visual axis analysis section determines that the eyes face it, allowing the code generation section to execute generating operation.
