PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air bag device for a front passenger seat, and a method for folding an air bag for a front passenger seat capable of improving accuracy in the deploying direction of the air bag for the front passenger seat.;SOLUTION: This air bag 32 for the front passenger seat comprises a left air bag 44 and a right air bag 46, and bases of both of them communicate with each other by a root 48. Bellow-foldings with a comparatively shallow folding depth are applied on both sides of the root 48 (bellows-like folding parts 72 are provided), so as to prevent a gas emission hole 70 of an inflator 28 from being blocked by the root 48 as much as possible under a vehicle mounting condition.
