PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating a magnet temperature or winding temperature of a permanent magnet type motor.;SOLUTION: This control unit for a permanent magnet type motor, having a forward conversion section, a smoothing section for smoothing an output of the forward conversion section, an inverse conversion section for converting an output of the smoothing section into AC and a controller for controlling the inverse conversion section, includes: a current detector for detecting a current output toward the motor from the inverse conversion section; an induced-voltage detector for detecting an induced voltage of the motor; and a temperature estimation section 15 for estimating a magnet temperature or a winding temperature of the motor.
