PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic echo canceler that can suppress a residual echo caused by a nonlinear characteristic of a speaker and an echo path of a portable terminal with a little operation amount and is easily applicable even to speech communication equipment such as a portable terminal.;SOLUTION: The acoustic echo canceler 10 is provided with an adaptive filter 3 for generating a pseudo signal on the basis of a received signal to be outputted to a speaker 2, an adding part 4 for subtracting the pseudo echo signal from a transmission signal inputted from a microphone 1 to suppress an echo component, and a residual echo suppressing part 5 for suppressing a residual echo component on the basis of the transmission signal and the pseudo echo signal. The residual echo suppressing part 5 compares an amplitude and a phase of a spectrum between the transmission signal and the pseudo echo signal, calculates a residual echo suppression coefficient so as to increase the degree of suppression in the case of satisfying an amplitude constraint condition and a phase constraint condition to thereby suppress a residual echo component that approximates to a echo component included in the transmission signal and on the other hand, prevents a voice component of a talker and a signal component of ambient noise information or the like from being suppressed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
