PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating improvement of printing quality of image which evaluates effectiveness of a means for improving the printing quality of image performing density correction of pixels by using a correcting value on every luster line to decrease density deviation, an apparatus for evaluating the improvement of the printing quality of image, and a program for evaluating the improvement of the printing quality of image.;SOLUTION: A pattern PA for evaluation for evaluating a banding suppressing effect is used. The pattern PA for evaluation has a plurality of striped patterns having a density distribution in the direction orthogonal to a luster line direction. Respective pattern regions have different mean densities on respective striped patterns. On a step for developing/improving a BR system 34 for correcting density values for decreasing the banding, the banding suppressing effect of the system is evaluated. Using the corrected data which a corrected data forming part 47 calculates based on the density measured on every luster line, a density correction processing part 49 corrects the densities of the pixels of the pattern image for evaluation, and an image quality-determining part 46 evaluates a BRS corrected image PC after half tone processing is performed.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
