PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inexpensively provide a micro-fiber having a plurality of islands, sufficient strength and high uniformity of fiber diameter in the nano-order at a high speed when the sea component in the sea-island cross-section is dissolved and removed.;SOLUTION: A method for producing a sea-island type conjugated fiber comprises feeding a melt spun undrawn sea-island type conjugated fiber yarn having an ultra-large plurality of islands to a first take-off roller and a second take-off roller at a higher peripheral speed than that of the first take-off roller, irradiating the yarn present between the first take-off roller and the second take-off roller with an infrared light beam, heating and carrying out flow drawing or further drawing or heat-treating the drawn yarn after the flow drawing.
