PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a propulsion control system for a sealed type shield machine, which can easily acquire a pressure state of the overall working face, allows the operator to instantaneously and easily check the location and the degree of abnormality with the eyes when pressure abnormality occurs, and is provided with a means for immediately taking countermeasures against the abnormality, and to provide a propulsion control method using the propulsion control system.;SOLUTION: The propulsion control system is formed of: a pressure measuring means 16 for measuring the pressure in a chamber 4; a display means 17 for displaying a result of measurement measured by the pressure measuring means 16 in a 3D graphics; a removed earth control means 18 for adjusting an earth removing speed for removing excavated earth in the chamber 4; and a propulsion control means 19 for adjusting propelling speeds of main shields 6, and an earth pressure balanced shield machine 1 main body, respectively.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
