PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus and method for allocating a band for transmitting an uplink frame to a plurality of ONUs in an Ethernet(R) passive optical access network.;SOLUTION: A band allocation method for guaranteeing QoS in the Ethernet(R) passive optical access network includes: a first step (S701) of dividing uplink frames to be transmitted from a plurality of optical network units (ONUs) to an optical line terminal (OLT) into a plurality of classes in accordance with predetermined priorities and requesting bandwidth required for each class to the optical line terminal (OLT); a second step (S702-S709) of, at the optical line terminator (OLT), allocating the requested bandwidth to a first-priority class among the plurality of classes; and a third step (S710) of, at the optical line terminal (OLT), dynamically allocating bandwidths to the other classes utilizing remaining residual bandwidths after allocating the bandwidth to the first-priority class.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
