PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in region separation processing rather than that of a conventional image processing device by switching a first processing mode during which region separation processing is performed upon image data on which density correction processing has been performed, and a second processing mode during which region separation processing is performed upon image data on which density correction processing has not been performed. PSOLUTION: The image processing device 20 includes: a region separation processing section 5 for performing region separation processing upon image data corresponding to an image to be processed; first and second input gradation correction sections 4 and 6 for performing density correction processing upon the image data while referring to a conversion curve indicating a relationship between a density before correction and a density after correction; and a mode control section 12 for switching a first processing mode during which the region separation processing is performed upon image data on which the density correction processing has been performed, and a second processing mode during which the region separation processing is performed upon image data on which the density correction processing has not been performed.
