PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of controlling unload standby time of a hard disk drive.;SOLUTION: The method of controlling unload standby time of a hard disk drive includes a process S302 for waiting until the unload standby time passes while the hard disk drive is in idle state, a process S310 for counting the frequency of unloading operations wherein, every time when the unload standby time passes, a head is unloaded and the frequency of accumulated unloading operations by the hard disk drive is calculated, and a process S312 for resetting the unload standby time according to the calculated frequency of accumulated unloading operations. Thus, the standby time for unloading is adjusted according to the frequency of the accumulated unloading operations so as to minimize the risk of damaging data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
