PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of reinforcing a roof panel or a floor panel, which is implemented when the existing roof panel or the floor panel undergoes strength deterioration or increased deflection due to aged deterioration or damage, dispenses with removal of upper finish, use of heavy equipment, and working on an existing beam, is carried out from below without welding, insusceptible to building applications, requires only relatively simple work, and exerts reliable strength.;SOLUTION: According to the method, a first vertical piece and a second vertical piece of a bearing fitting for reinforcement, abutted on a lower surface of an upper flange (2a) of an H-shaped steel beam (2) and a retaining section of a retaining fitting (5) abutted on an upper surface of the upper flange (2a) cooperatively pinch the upper flange (2a), and a nut or the like is turned and fastened, to thereby fix the retaining fitting (5) to the H-shaped steel beam (2).
