PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a library analysis method and a library analyzer for efficiently qualitative-analyzing compounds constituting each specimen as to a multitude of specimens. PSOLUTION: According to this library analysis method, (1) a plurality of specimens are given signs different from each other, (2) a measured X-ray profile is found for each of the signs of the plurality of specimens, (3) the measured profile of each sign is collated with a standard X-ray profile to search for pure compounds, thus determining composition points where the pure compounds exist, (4) one triangle is formed by selecting three points existing on the same coordinate plane from among the composition points where the pure compounds exist, (5) measured profiles of respective composition points contained in the triangle are in order collated with the standard profiles of the pure compounds at the three points to eliminate standard profiles providing coincidence with a prescribed correlation or in excess thereof, (6) the step of the above (5) is repeated with respect to the specimens at all the composition points included in one triangle to store measured profiles remaining behind for each of the signs.
