PSOLUTION: The start controller for the vehicle 10 equipped with an engine 6, a clutch 7 arranged to turn on and off power transmission between the engine 6 and driving wheels 11, and an electric motor 8 coupled to transmit power to the driving wheels 11 not through the clutch 7, is further equipped with: a start request detecting means 3a of detecting a start request; a stop state decision means 3b of deciding whether the vehicle 10 is in a stop state; a start standby control means 4 of turning off the clutch while stopping the engine 6 until the start request is detected when it is decided that the vehicle 10 is in a stop state; and a start control means 5 of driving the electric motor 8 and also driving the clutch 7 in a connecting direction after the start request is detected and the control by the start standby control means 4 ends.
