PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper width detection device capable of detecting the width of paper (size in a width direction) at low cost, and an image forming device provided with the paper width detection device.;SOLUTION: The paper size detection device is provided with an action member 10; and a switch 11 provided near the action member 10. The action member 10 includes a rotatable shaft 19 arranged so as to extend in a direction perpendicular to a paper conveying direction Y1 of a paper conveying passage 3; and three projections 9a, 9b, 9c projected to the paper conveying passage 3, projected from the positions different from each other in an axial direction of the shaft 19 in correspondence with difference of the width of the paper 2 conveyed in the paper conveying passage 3 and having projection angles different from each other viewed from an axial direction. The paper 2 is abutted on any one of the three projections 9a, 9b, 9c. As a result, the action member 10 is turned and the switch 11 is switched.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
