PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave imaging system and an imaging method by a microwave, capable of executing microwave imaging in a distant point, at resolution enough to discriminate an object such as a prohibited article within a distant area. PSOLUTION: Respective directional coefficients are made programmable to emit a microwave toward a target in a volume portion including the distant area, in an antenna array including a plurality of antenna elements, and the respective directional coefficients are further made programmable to receive a reflected emission microwave reflected from the target. A processor measures an intensity of the reflected emission microwave, and finds a voxel value in a microwave image of the volume portion.
