USE OF ANTI-MAdCAM FOR TREATING CELIAC DISEASE AND TROPICAL SPRUE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine and a method for treating celiac disease and/or tropical sprue. PSOLUTION: The medicine and method use an anti-MAdCAM (mucosal addressin cell adhesion molecule) antibody. The antibody or a site has at least one of the following properties. (a) binding to human cells, (b) having selectivity for the MAdCAM of at least 100 times that of VCAM (vascular cell adhesion molecule) or fibronectin, (c) binding to human MAdCAM at a KSBd/SBof 310SP-10/SPM, (d) inhibiting the binding of cells expressing SB4/SBSB7/SBto the human MAdCAM or (e) inhibiting recruit of lymphocytes for alimentary canal lymphatic tissues.
