DIRECTIONAL COUPLER AND 180amp;deg; HYBRID COUPLER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a directional coupler which has a circuit configuration wherein its two output terminals are set in the same direction and is of an asymmetrical taper coupled line type having excellent characteristics and a structure of connection between an input/output line and a coupling line connection structure, and to provide a 180° hybrid coupler.;SOLUTION: In the directional coupler that is of an asymmetrical tapered coupled line type composed of a tapered coupled line which consists of two line conductors and is continuously varied in the degree of sectional coupling in the lengthwise direction of the line and monotonously increased in the distribution of coupling degree in the lengthwise direction of the line, a connecting structure 5 is provided near a joint between the densely coupled end of the coupled line 3 and the input/output line 4 to enable reflection coefficients induced by the parasitic components at the joint to cancel each other and to become small at the joint through a wide frequency band.
