PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a barcode recognition device and a barcode recognition method for recognizing information even when the image of a barcode is unclear.;SOLUTION: The barcode recognition device is provided with: a sensor part 204 for reading the image of a slip 202 in which a barcode is written; a luminance graph preparation part 212 for optically scanning each barcode area along a direction orthogonal to each bar included in the barcode, and for preparing the luminance graph of reflected rays of light; a bar width determination part 214 for determining the width of each bar according to the maximum value and minimum value of the luminance graph; and a barcode recognition part 216 for recognizing the barcode information based on the determined width of each bar.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
