PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the control technology which further improves the control accuracy of a solid phase ratio of a semi-solidified metal slurry so as to meet the request for realizing the sophistication of the casting technology.;SOLUTION: ST01 : First, a correlation chart between the solid phase ratio of the semi-solidified metal slurry and the viscosity for each metal component is prepared. ST02 : Target viscosity A corresponding to a target solid phase ratio is determined by using the correlation chart prepared at the ST01. ST03 : The cooling of the semi-solidified metal slurry filled in a crucible is started while stirring the semi-solidified metal slurry. ST04 : The semi-solidified metal slurry is cooled. A distortion voltage is measured by a load cell. The viscosity B is calculated by a force-viscosity converting means. ST05 : When the viscosity B obtained in the process at the ST04 exceeds the target viscosity A, the process proceeds to ST06 and the cooling is finished. However, when the viscosity B is less than the target viscosity A, the cooling is continued until the viscosity B exceeds the target viscosity A. The effects of the change in a cooling speed and a time can be eliminated by the detection of the viscosity. Therefore, it is possible to significantly enhance the control accuracy of the solid phase ratio of the semi-solidified metal slurry.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
