PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To highly precisely reduce the fluctuation of the plate thickness in a medium period represented by the fluctuation of the plate thickness attributable to the temperature deviation of the skid mark during the rolling when controlling the plate thickness of a continuous hot rolling mill of a metallic material in which a plurality of rolling stands are arranged in tandem.;SOLUTION: The thickness controller comprises: a tracking unit 3 for outputting the plate thickness immediately below the inlet side of a rolling stand to be controlled by delaying the measurement value to the speed of the material by inputting the measurement value of the plate thickness by a thickness gage arranged between the tracking unit and the inlet side of the rolling stand to be controlled or a rolling stand before the rolling stand to be controlled; a lock-on difference operation unit 4 for outputting the difference signal between the inlet side plate thickness and the lock-on plate thickness; an extraction filter unit 5 for outputting the corrected plate thickness deviation signal indicating the plate thickness deviation of the skid mark from the difference signal; and an operational quantity calculation unit 6 for calculating the control signal based on the corrected plate thickness deviation signal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
