PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly and simply determine total amino acid amount quantitatively, by analyzing a fluorescent reaction product of a primary amino acid with fluorescamine by means of an HPLC.;SOLUTION: A sample liquid is made to react with the fluorescamine, a standard amino acid solution comprising one kind of amino acid, or mixed with several kinds of amino acids is made to react with the fluorescamine, the reaction products are analyzed respectively by the HPLC using an acetonitrile/water mixture as an eluent in an ion exchange resin column, fluorescence intensity in 480 nm is measured as a peak area, and the total amino acid amount is calculated based on a concentration of the standard amino acid, or concentrations of the standard amino acids.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
