PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for detecting a fault of a communication network in accordance with an objective criterion by analyzing a warning log outputted from an administrative server of the communication network and evaluating the degree of abnormality of the communication network retroactively to a high-order factor that has incurred a warning.;SOLUTION: A system comprises: an appearance strength calculating means for a high-order factor 500 which calculates an appearance strength of the high-order factor 500 that has incurred a warning, by analyzing recording contents of the warning; an appearance strength probability distribution calculating means for calculating a probability distribution of the appearance strength of the high-order factor 500 at a normal time of the communication network; an abnormality degree calculating means for calculating, as the degree of abnormality, a stochastic degree of the appearance strength of the high-order factor 500 out of the probability distribution at the normal time; and a fault detecting means for detecting a fault of the communication network by comparing the degree of abnormality with a predetermined threshold value, wherein the appearance strength of the high-order factor that has incurred the warning, is calculated from warning issuance records, and the appearance strength of the high-order factor 500 is used to detect the fault of the communication network.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
