PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body fat rate-reducing agent effective for the suppression or prevention of obesity or improvement of an obese constitution. PSOLUTION: This body fat rate-reducing agent is provided by containing the microbial cells of Lactobacillus plantarum (e.g. the Lactobacillus plantarum No. 14 strain, trusted as FERM P-11550) as an active ingredient. The body fat rate-reducing food containing the microbial cells of the Lactobacillus plantarum and the body fat rate-reducing medicine containing the microbial cells of the Lactobacillus plantarum are also provided.
