PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a food information providing system, capable of rapidly and efficiently providing, to a user purchasing foods, food information adapted to the user's will in relation to a body fat rate, so that the user consequently can rapidly and efficiently purchase intended foods.;SOLUTION: A shopping cart CT is provided with a body fat rate calculation part 5 having a handle part 8 as a detecting electrode. Cart identification information within an IC tag 6 is detected by a reader DM, whereby whether the shopping cart CT approaches a setting position where the reader DM is set or not is detected and identified, and when the approach of the shopping cart CT to a display table D is detected, food information considering body fat rate corresponding to a food on the display table D is provided through a display 2 on the shopping cart CT.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
