PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic settlement method, capable of performing settlement without a commodity purchaser having to present personal information to a commodity seller side and of preventing illicit use.;SOLUTION: A purchaser-side bank system 30 of a purchaser-side bank 3 having a settlement account of the commodity purchaser 1 generates and stores, upon receipt of information for the settlement account and a settlement amount from a purchaser terminal 10 of the commodity purchaser 1 who purchases a certain commodity through a communication path 52, a settlement number used for the settlement of the commodity with the received settlement account and settlement amount in a settlement number DB 31, and returns the settlement number to the purchaser terminal 10.
