PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool transport device capable of miniaturizing the device itself and furnished with a tool breakage detection means never to lower production efficiency.;SOLUTION: Detection of breakage of a tip end of a tool 7 is carried out in a transport process of the tool 7 on this tool transport device. The detection device is constituted by providing optical sensors 5, 5 on a supporting member so as to face against each other. The detection device is set on a front surface of a tool magazine by fastening the supporting member so as to project forward. Additionally, existence of the breakage on the tip end of the tool 7 is detected by judging whether the tip end of the tool 7 is positioned at a detecting position or not (whether the tip end of the tool 7 passes between the optical sensors 5, 5 or not) at the detecting position by sliding and moving a slider and pot holding member 13 to the detecting position set for each of the tool 7 in the middle of transport of the tool 7 before/after use as shown in Fig.3.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
