PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a channel change support method capable of supplying visual support to a user for a simple channel change at the time of television channel changing, without spoiling the operability of channel change.;SOLUTION: The channel change support method comprises a step of receiving operation by a control unit 16 or an infrared signal by an infrared light receiver 15, and judging whether the instructed change is a change to a channel selection rise direction or a change to a channel selection down direction; performing the channel change to the judged direction; referring to the present time supplied from a time clock portion 21; reading program names corresponding to a plurality of channels including a change destination channel continuing in the judged direction respectively and combination of channel numbers from a storage portion 19; and displaying them on a display unit 18.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
