PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for managing the state and property of an information source relating to information needed by a user and presenting them in response to a retrieval request.;SOLUTION: The shared data information display device is provided in a terminal 11 which utilizes the contents of other equipment connected to a network in common, and comprises: a terminal state management part 116 for acquiring the the data list of contents that the terminal itself and the other equipment have, estimating the effective speed of the network from the acquisition time and calculating the time for obtaining a file included in the data list; a state information imparting part 117 for imparting connection state information relating to the other equipment and the attribute information of the data to the information of the file; a data holding memory 112 for storing the results; an information display editing part 118 for merging the data list of the contents that the terminal and the other equipment have on the basis of the attribute information and preparing the image for display of the connection state information, the time for obtaining the file and the attribute information; and a display device 120 for displaying the image for the display.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
