PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent omission of authentication release in a device with a built-in CPU which is retained in an authentication state for enabling a user who inputs a correct password to use the device with the built-in CPU. PSOLUTION: The device U with the built-in CPU comprises a certified user authentication means C7 including a password storage memory C7b for storing a password, a password input screen display means C5a for displaying a password input screen 11 on a display UI3, and a password determination means C7a for determining whether an input password is correct or not; an authentication state retaining means C9 for retaining the device in an authentication state; an authentication state release condition storage means C8e for storing a predetermined authentication state release condition; an authentication state release condition determination means C11 for determining whether the authentication state release condition is established or not; a non-authentication state retention means C13 for retaining the device U with the built-in CPU in an unusable state; and an authentication state automatic release condition setting means C8 for setting an authentication state automatic release condition.
