PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically generate an unique time series pattern which can be discriminated from other time series for the status of each time series. PSOLUTION: A time series pattern generating part 103 generates time series patterns which are not similar to each other to such an extent as shown by a similarity parameter by using time series data corresponding to the plurality of statuses of an object to be observed, and outputs the time series pattern obtained by erasing a time series pattern whose frequency of appearance is low from among those generated time series patterns as an output time series pattern 104. A time series pattern evaluating part 105 performs the overall evaluation of the output time series pattern 104 generated by the time series pattern generating part 103, and when the overall evaluation is within a predetermined standard, the time series pattern evaluating part 105 evaluates each time series pattern, and outputs the time series pattern obtained by excluding a time series pattern which does not satisfy an individual reference as a final time series pattern 107. Whereas a time series pattern evaluating part 105 corrects the similarity parameter when the above overall evaluation is beyond the predetermined reference, and transmits it to the time series pattern generating part 103.
