PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber having superior optical properties and improved transmission performance, an optical fiber cable and an optical fiber cable with a plug each using this optical fiber, and also to provide a method for producing the optical fiber. PSOLUTION: The invention provides the optical fiber in which contents of sulfuric atoms combined with a (co)polymer in the fiber core is 200-1,000 ppm and those not combined is ≤5 ppm. The invention also provides the optical fiber cable and the plug-attached optical fiber cable each using this optical fiber as well as the method for producing the optical fiber.
