PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce background light generated around a scatterer in a head for magneto-optical hybrid recording using the conductive scatterer as a near-field light generation element.;SOLUTION: A magnetic field generating coil 3 is arranged in the bottom part of a slider 1, and a near-field light generating element 2 is provided in the inner side of the coil 3. In this case, the inner diameter of the coil is at most a wavelength of incident light 4, and an interval 9 between leading out lines 6 for making currents flow through the coil is at most half the wavelength of the incident light.
