PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermally stable alkali phosphatase isolated from a thermophilic strain, Rhodothermus marinus, and useful for a standard labeling reaction, a diagnosing analysis, a molecular biology technique in which the removal of phosphoryl groups is desirable, etc. ;SOLUTION: This thermally stable alkali phosphatase has an amino acid sequence which is homologous in an extend of at least 75% based on the enzymatically active part of the alkali phosphatase of Rhodothermus marinus expressed by the formula. The alkali phosphatase has the optimal pH of ≥10.5 and good durability also at a temperature of at least 65°C. The alkali phosphatase is obtained by the multiplication of Rhodothermus marinus ATCC 43812 under an aerobic condition at 65°C, etc.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1997,JPO
