PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To designate the number of medals in an automatic medal feeder for conveying a put-in medal onto a rail inclined to a horizontal plane and feeding the medal from this rail. PSOLUTION: The automatic medal feeder is provided with a mechanism 14 for conveying the put-in medal onto the rail 13 inclined to the horizontal plane and feeding the medal from the rail, a stopper 17 for suppressing the roll of the medal on the rail, a sensor 16 for detecting the presence/absence of the medal suppressed by the stopper 17, and projections 19a and 19b for preventing the medal from being put on at least one part of the rail.
