PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lightweight, small-size and sure-operation device for measurement of a single-breath diffusing capacity (DLSBCO/SB) of the lung. PSOLUTION: The single-breath diffusing capacity (DLSBCO/SB) of the lung is provided with a mainstream ultrasonic flow and molar mass sensor 8 used for controlling to supply DLSBCO/SBtest gas 2 to a patient and attached with an electromechanically operated valve device 17, a sidestream molar mass sensor 26 used for calculating a tracer gas concentration necessary for determining an alveolar volume, and a sidestream CO sensor 27. The He concentration is measured with the mainstream molar mass sensor 8 or the sidestream molar mass sensor 26. The CO concentration is measured with the sidestream CO sensor. Alveolar volume and CO diffusion are determined by measuring the reduction of He and CO concentrations from inspiration to expiration. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
