POLYURETHANE CULTURE MEDIUM CUT INTO FINE STRIPS

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide planted seedling-raising culture media which can arrange germination, increase a transplantation rootage percentage, shorten production days, and reduce distribution costs. PSOLUTION: A water-repelling polyurethane mat having a porosity of 90% and far infrared rays of ≥5 μm is processed into a sheet-like shape having a distribution plan size of a seedling tray, namely having a thickness of 250 mm, a thickness of 50 mm, and a length of 500 mm. The sheet is cut into 25 mm square pieces each having a thickness of 50 mm, and each piece is spirally cut in a penetrated state. The square portions are cut, while partially leaving their upper portions so that the upper portions of the squarely cut pieces are wholly connected. The square culture media can be torn with hands. The mat is inserted and fixed to a plug tray. The fixed mat sheet can be used as 200 raising culture media. Seeds are sowed on the culture media with a sower, germinated in a germination chamber, and then raised in a seedling-raising chamber. PCOPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
