PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring method for a tire uniformity in which the setup of a rim width can be changed automatically, which is low-cost and whose maintenance can be enhanced and to provide a tire uniformity testing apparatus used to execute the measuring method. SOLUTION: In the tire uniformity testing apparatus, an upper main shaft unit 5 equipped with a rotatable and drivable upper main shaft 4 is suspended from, and installed at, a frame 3, an upper rim 6 is mounted on the tip of the main shaft 4 so as to be detachable, and an engaging part 7 whose cross section is composed of a truncated core-shaped recess is formed in the central part. A lower main shaft unit 10 equipped with a lower rim 9 on the same axis line X-X as the unit 5 is arranged and installed so as to be capable of being raised and lowered at the lower part of a conveyance conveyor 8, a uniformity measuring means 11 is installed at a side part between the unit 5 and the unit 10 so as to be movable in the horizontal direction, and the means 11 is constituted of a rotatable load drum 11a, an X-Y load cell 11b and the like.
