PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new movable body position detecting technique capable of inexpensively and accurately detecting the present position of a movable body. PSOLUTION: Identification information is recognized by photographing a marker having, for example, a binarized pattern used in specifying a recording position of the identification information and a binarized pattern coordinated with the identification information recorded in the recording position specified by the binarized pattern, and applying recognition processing to the photographed image information. When the identification information is recognized and a position of the movable body can be detected from the identification information in accordance with a code of the identification information, the position of the movable body is determined by applying a specific conversion to the recognized identification information. When such a code is not prepared, the position of the movable body is determined by using the recognized identification information as a key and accessing to a storing means for storing a correspondence relationship between the identification information that is a recognition object and positional information of the movable body coordinated therewith.
