PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data searching system capable of easily and surely detecting when, where and how image data read under diversified monitor conditions are processed. PSOLUTION: A copying machine 1001 stores original image data or print image data after the layout of the data is changed to a storage server 1005 as image data in use, records a storage location of the image data in use and job history information to generate a history record and records the history record to a history management server 1006. When a user uses the copying machine 1001 to read a desired image, searching image data are produced. A searching server 1003 detects image data matched to the searching image data from the image data in use in the storage server 1005 by means of pattern matching. In this case, the history record of the image data in use compared by the pattern matching is detected from the history management server 1006 and an extracted object of the pattern matching is changed in response to the history record.
