PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for stably producing a high-quality polyester and a high-strength polyester fiber by controlling an esterification reaction in an extremely simple method having high precision and reliability.;SOLUTION: In the method for continuously producing a polyester by mixing an aromatic dicarboxylic acid with a glycol by a slurry preparation tank to give slurry, quantitatively supplying the slurry at the flow rate of the slurry at a set value ±≤3%, carrying out the esterification reaction, successively supplying the obtained polyester oligomer to a polycondensation reaction tank and carrying out polycondensation, a glycol distilled out from the polyester production process is fractionated by a distillation column set in the production process of the polyester to remove a low-boiling fraction consisting essentially of water, the residue taken out from the bottom of the distillation column is recycled and reused as recovered glycol, the pressure of the top of the distillation column is set in the range of 10-300kPa.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
