PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide countermeasures for reducing trouble in skin caused by perspiration, especially a feeling of irritation to the skin or skin roughening.;SOLUTION: A method for reducing or preventing the trouble in the skin is to adsorb or absorb metal ions present on the skin surface or cause an ion exchange reaction with the metal cations and thereby reduce contact of the metal cations with the skin. A cosmetic is obtained by formulating powder adsorbing or absorbing the metal cations present on the skin surface or causing the ion exchange reaction with the metal cations, preferably the powder having ≥1.5 value of (A)-(B) when the pH value of a 10 mass% dispersion of the powder using purified water or a 10 vol.% aqueous solution of ethanol as a medium is (A) and the pH value of a 10 mass% dispersion of the powder using a 1 mass% aqueous solution of sodium chloride or a liquid prepared by dissolving sodium chloride in a 10 vol.% aqueous solution of ethanol so as to provide 1 mass% as a medium is (B). The powder has more preferably ≤600 m2/g specific surface area and ≤30 μm average particle diameter. For example, the powder is silicic acid anhydride.
