PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aqueous binder for an inorganic fiber, which does not contain formaldehyde, has excellent strength, is suitably used under weakly acidic-weakly basic condition and provides a cured product of the binder, having excellent strength and an inorganic fiber heat insulating and sound absorbing material.;SOLUTION: The inorganic fiber heat insulating and sound absorbing material is formed by using an aqueous binder for an inorganic fiber, which comprises an acrylic resin having 350-850 mgKOH/g acid value, a crosslinking agent containing at least one or more kinds of dialkanolamines and a curing promoter, has the total number of mols of hydroxy group and imino group in the crosslinking agent of 0.8-1.5 by molar ratio and adjusted to pH 6.0-8.0 by a volatile basic compound.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
