PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a strange sound inspection system which can decide the presence or absence of a strange sound included in an operating sound of an object to be inspected 2 and also to accurately decide the location of the occurrence of the strange sound.;SOLUTION: The strange sound inspection system for inspecting the strange sound contained in the operating sound of the object to be inspected 2 comprises: a soundproof box 1, which is provided with a soundproof structure reducing the entry of external sounds and within which the object to be inspected 2 is installed; a microphone 10 provided within the soundproof box 1; a BPF 13 for rejecting external sound components which are included in the operating sound of the object to be inspected 2 captured by the microphone 10 and which cannot be completely cut off by the soundproof box 1; and a strange sound decision processing means 14 which takes the mean square of the temporal waveform of the operating sound of the object to be inspected 2 with the external sound components rejected by the BPF 13 and decides the presence or the absence of the strange sound contained in the operating sound of the object to be inspected 2 and/or the location of the occurrence of the strange sound, on the basis of the shape of the waveform after being subjected to mean square.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
