PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for utilizing a copper or aluminum based favorable thermal conductivity material evenly and favorably formed with a coating superior in, not only heat resistance, adhesiveness, and corrosion resistance, but also in durability (a long term anticorrosion effect) as a latent heat recovery type heat exchanger. PSOLUTION: The copper or aluminum based member for the latent heat recovery type heat exchanger is comprised by forming the coating including a high polymer having a methylene chain containing a fluorine substituent in a principal chain on an outer surface. The high polymer has 5-50 fluorine with respect to 100 carbon in atomic ratio in the principal chain, and an aromatic group is not substantially included in the principal chain. The high polymer has a hydrolytic silyl group indicated by a formula (wherein RSB1/SB, RSB2/SBare the same or different alkyl group, alkoxyl group, or hydroxyl group, RSB3/SBis hydrogen or an alkyl group, and n indicates a natural number).
