PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image output apparatus for visually notifying of an error of connection and image output setting in an image output connection section.;SOLUTION: The image output apparatus comprises: an image output format memory section 106 in which a setting value of a signal format of an image signal is stored; a connection state discrimination section 110 for discrimination whether a connection section 120 of an image display device 102 is connected to the image output connection section 104 for outputting the image signal to the outside, or not; a consistency determining section 111 for determining whether the image signal of a format according to the setting value can be output or not, in the connection state which is discriminated by the connection state discrimination section 110; and a display control section 107 for displaying a determination result in the consistency determining section 111.
