PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a feed roll used for laterally and smoothly discharging vegetables cut into strips and julienne in a vegetable julienning machine.;SOLUTION: The vegetable julienning machine is provided with a plain cutting blade i arranged so as to face a casing a, and a first rotary shaft g and a second rotary shaft h arranged in the neighborhood of the plain cutting blade i in front and rear and in parallel with each other. Charged vegetables are flatly cut by the plain cutting blade i. The flatly cut vegetables are cut into strip by being longitudinally cut by means of a circular cutting blade j mounted on the first rotary shaft, or are julienned by being laterally cut by means of a lateral cutting blade k, and then the cut vegetables are discharged out of the machine. In this machine, the laterally cutting blade k is replaced with a feed roll 10 to be mounted on the second rotary shaft. Flexible rubber plate elements 16, 16 are provided on the outer surface of the shaft sleeve 11 of the feed roll 10 so as to protrude in the almost radial direction in order to push the vegetables cut into strips.
