PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication device capable of preventing a lost card from illegally being used without changing its authentication number for a library management system.;SOLUTION: Authentication information on a user who is to borrow a book is input, and an authentication number and a frequency of issue are extracted from the authentication information based upon parameters previously storing a rule for extracting the authentication number and frequency of issue; and the extracted authentication information and frequency of issue are collated with an authentication number and a frequency of issue of the user which are previously registered in a user database to confirm the user himself or herself.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
