PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for checking the effect of energy saving capable of more effectively checking the effect of energy saving. PSOLUTION: The device 6 for checking the effect of energy saving checks the effect of energy saving by renewing a machine tool disposed in a house equipped with an air conditioner. It consists of a first detection section 60 and a second detection section 61. The first detection section 60 calculates a difference between consumed electric power of the machine tool after renewal and that of the same before the renewal. The second detection section 61 calculates the quantity of reduction of consumed electric power of the air conditioner followed by the reduction of the quantity of produced heat by the machine tool caused by the renewal of the machine tool.
