PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a 2-bisarylamino-9,9-dialkylfluorene in high efficiency in a short time while suppressing the formation of by-products by reacting respectively specific dialkyl iodofluorene with diarylamine using a small amount of copper catalyst.;SOLUTION: The objective 2-bisarylamino-9,9-dialkylfluorene compound of formula III is produced by reacting (A) a 9,9-dialkyl-2-iodofluorene compound of formula I (R1 is H or a lower alkyl) (preferably 9,9-methyl-2-iodofluorene) with (B) a diarylamine of formula II (R2 to R11 are each H, an alkyl or an alkoxy) (preferably 4,4'-dimethyldiphenylamine) in the presence of (C) 0.5-10 mol% of copper catalyst based on the amount of the component A.
