UNSHAPED PARTICLE PRODUCED BY SOLIDIFYING MIXTURE OF CHAR OF WASTE TATAMI (JAPANESE STRAW MAT) WITH SAND AND USE OF UNSHAPED PARTICLE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems involved in coarse ground product or ground product of char of waste tatami (Japanese straw mat) that the coarse ground product or ground product is likely to be broken upon friction and, in the use of the coarse ground product or ground product packed into a nonwoven fabric bag for the removal of malodor, fine powder is leaked from the bag resulting in contamination, and, in the use of the coarse ground product or ground product for the removal of malodor in a poultry house, fine powder contaminates the poultry house or is disadvantageously flied by wind for spreading of the contamination, and, also in use in a fish grill for household use, oil droplets dropped from the fish kick up the fine powder of the char of the waste tatami to comtaminate the fish, or, possibly due to small adsorption amount of oil droplets from the fish, the time necessary for causing combustion of the oil droplet is short making it impossible to put this technique into practical use. PSOLUTION: In order to solve these problems, certain weight and certain hardness should be imparted to the char of the waste tatami. To this end, the char of the waste tatami is mixed with a certain amount of sand. A certain amount of water-diluted colloidal silica is sprayed on the mixture, followed by stirring and solidification to prepare unshaped and irregular particles each having a diameter of not more than 20 mm which are used for the contemplated application. When the unshaped and irregular particles are utilized for raising of flowers, the stem and flower are significantly grown and, further, the blooming period can be significantly prolonged.
